Talking Devices
Home security can now be ensured using talking devices. These voice alert systems inform intruders that they are not welcome on a property and outline that it is private, thus consequences can be incurred. Companies now manufacture these with movement sensors, so they are set off when they are made aware that someone has breached the borderline of the property.
Key Fobs and Remotes
Key fobs and remote controls can now be used to activate or turn off your home alarm from a distance, similar to a car’s key fob. This means that unlike traditional home alarm systems, there is no fuss about running to reset the alarm before it goes off.
On top of this, some have a panic button on them which sets of the house alarm and alerts the police that there is an emergency situation. Remote controls are similar in function to the fobs but can have other features like keypads and talking features.
Yard Signs, House and Window Decals
Signs advertising your home security alarm system or the company who installed it can inform potential thieves from a distance that you have a system in the house which will make their entry difficult. You can even have a sign even if you don’t have a system to deter thieves, as few would be willing to actually risk finding out if you really do have one or not.
Back-up power supplies
Looting and stealing is all the more likely in power cuts, when it is less easy to see and even harder to contact the authorities. Not only this, but home security systems of any type are also brought down when the power goes, giving intruders a window of opportunity.
Having your own backup power supply will keep your alarm working at all times. This is simpler than it sounds, such as using an alarm which can also run on batteries.
Wireless Systems
Wireless systems are an effective and subtle way of protecting your house. These systems operate using sensors, radio frequencies and the wiring in your home to communicate with a master control panel. This means no burglar will know of the presence of the system, and it is not easy to disable.
Motion Detectors
Motion detectors and sensors placed all over the house can ensure no door or window is left vulnerable. These can even include settings to exclude pets which may accidentally keep setting the sensors off.
Master Control Panels
Master Control Panels are the systems most often utilised in homes, as these control the alarm and any other measures you may have in place. They are usually found on the walls with a key pad and control over the alarm settings, and require a key code to activate, change settings or deactivate.
